Kids relegated to purgatory at Broadway

Kids relegated to purgatory at BroadwayIn their infinite wisdom Centre Management at Broadway Shopping Centre have moved the kids area to level 3, next to Priceline. The furthest they can get it away from the shops without leaving the centre?

This is the second time in a year they have move the kids playground.

Is the reason for moving, that stores have complained about the kids area being to close to them? I would think it would be good the surrounding stores. Parents are stuck there for a length of time, with nothing else to look at.

The kids playground was in a convenient location. Easy to visit when you need to let them burn off extra energy. Now you have to drag kids along a series of escalators or wait for space on the one lift that goes to level 3.

I suppose kids don’t make many purchases in the shopping centre. So why not just stick them where they are neither seen nor heard?

It’s more likely that just want the space to put in more shops. Like the reason they moved the customer service desk somewhere not obvious.

Standing firm at the curb, he looks toward the oncoming cars.
His stance enhanced by the jacket and sunglasses.
Fate is coming and he is waiting to embrace it.

Or, maybe the bus us just running late.

And he waits

Out of order ATM

Sorry, this machine
is temporarily
out of service

Doesn’t it really annoy you finding an ATM that is not working?

First the banks charge you for using someone else’s ATM, then you find their ATM broken so you have no choice.

Not that I needed this one, I just though it was a good example of the problem.

Schools to be rates by Lleyton HewittIn today’s Sun Herald Julia Gillard reviles that schools will now be rated by Lleyton Hewitt.

Upon hearing the news at his court in Melbourne Mr Hewitt raised his fist and screamed in joy. The familiar ‘Common’ could be heard a block away.

Teachers are expected to object to this appointment, but the government sees it as the best way to deal with all but the most belligerent opponent.

“Common! That comment was out.” a Department spokesman was heard declaring.

Toilet information in VietnameseDo you see many signs in multiple languages and wonder of they all say the same thing?

Say this sign in a Vietnamese restaurant in Marrickville, and thought was interesting to find the Vietnamese of the message in English.

Vui lòng bỏ bằng vê sinh vào thùng rác.

Which Google Translate converts to “Please put tampons in the trash”.

So, it appears that some signs translate quite directly. But I wonder about some of the signs I’ve seen where one language has much more text than the others.

Here you can see the latest model bank teller droid powered down at the end of the day. With the new power conservation laws in place, all unneeded appliances (droids included) must be powered down. Thereby reducing the nations carbon footprint.

(The bank had closed for the day. There were no customers left, only staff. And yes, this staff member was asleep. Slumped in his chair, unmoving.)

This seems to be a problem with this price tags in the Coles flavoured milk section.

If you are paying $6 for 3 Ice Breaks, and the price is $2.95 or $2.89 each, I would hope you save more than $1.44.

In with the old signAnd out with the new signWalking down George Street Sydney it was interesting to catch a truck going down the street replacing the festival signs. A workman was lifted in a bucket to remove the New Years Eve posters and replace them with Sydney Festival ones.
