The latest campaign to stop an oppressive regime? #EndRoadwork
Walking past UTS today I was confronted by this sign in the middle of the foot path.
Is this a part of a protest movement against another oppressive regime? Another cause they we should all be standing up in support of?
Everyone please support the End Roadwork campaign.
Sheltering from the rain, while waiting for a bus to Balmain (photo)
In the downpour this morning (around 8:30am) masses huddled under the awing behind the Queen Victoria Building waiting for a 441 or 442 to Balmain. Unfortunately there had been an three car accident on the Anzac bridge causing traffic delays. Not that the buses are know for being on time after 8am. Over 30 minutes later 2 buses arrived, and everyone packed in.
Having fluro for breakfast at Westfield (photo)
A row of workmen dressed in their fluro jerseys watch TV as they eat breakfast in Westfield Sydney Central Plaza. I suppose they have to eat breakfast at some point, and there weren’t many other customers in the food hall. I just thought it looked funny they all watching morning TV shows.
Happy Mardi Grass (cartoon)
To celebrate tonight’s Mardi Gras Parade I have drawn a humorous cartoon.
As you stand watching the parade a float goes by covered in what appears to be a field of lush grass. And the people standing on the back shout out…

NSW trains stopping with enough precision to meet doors on the platform?
Today’s Sydney Morning Herald has an article about the ways the state government is looking to ‘ease peak hour train crush‘. Some of the things though I just don’t see working. Like the intention to:
“introducing ”screen doors” between platforms and trains to alleviate Sydney’s worsening peak hour crush“
They have this in Japan, but I don’t think it would work here. It requires the trains stop so the doors are always in the same place. Not sure they can achieve this level of accuracy.
Have you ever see trains stop so the doors are always in the same place on the platform?
No. I didn’t think so.
Highlighting organic on your sign? Maybe use green text? (photo)
Noticed this supermarket in Glebe highlighting the fact it sells organic products by putting the word organic in a different colour.
But, if you are going to go to that much trouble, is black really the correct colour for the word? Don’t you think it might make more sense to have it green? Which even contrasts well with the orange background.
Would you give this werewolf to your 3 year old?
Found this werewolf in a toy store. The packaging says for ages 3-8 years, but really, do you think this is the sort of thing you would give to a 3 year old?
Yes, the 3-8 years labelling is probably about safety guidelines for the product. I still think it is marketed at the wrong age bracket.
Can’t go outside mum, the neighbours look angry
Look mum, I know I promised to go outside today and do some planting…
…but the neighbours look a bit angry.
And I really don’t want them to blow up at me!
Experienced 101 Ukuleles @White Rabbit Gallery
Well, I don’t know if there were actually 101 Ukuleles at White Rabbit Gallery this evening. But it was quite an interesting musical experience. When I arrived a queue had formed out the front of the gallery, although it moved along quite fast, and we were inside in no time.
