And Delicious.com went berserk…

So you try for some self promotions. Set your blog to automatically post to Delicious and twitter. And since you submit links to Delicious you want them posted daily to your blog.

And them Delicious goes berserk.

Deciding to post every hour, or more often, the links for the last day. Feeding itself to a greater frenzy. With links to all its posts.

Worse than the runaway Delicious. Now more like a runaway freight train.

So I had to pull the plug. No more delicious link posts. At least not for the moment. Maybe again in the future when I have time to keep an eye on it.

I apologise to all the people reading my blog, twitter or facebook for all the extra spam.

Who will dub Iron Chef Australia?

Iron Chef AustraliaPopping up around Sydney at the moment are ads for a new Channel 7 show, Iron Chef Australia.

From the poster I can see they have selected Neil Perry, Guy Grossi and Guillaume Brahimi as their Iron Chefs. I don’t watch enough TV these days (not that that is bad thing) and only recognise Neil Perry. Do the others appear well in front of a camera (and I don’t just mean promo photos)?

Though, the main thing I want to know about this show is, who is going to dub it?

You can’t have the chefs and commentators doing their own speaking. All the fun would be lost from the show.

Oh, and the Chairman needs to be subtitled.

Woolworths renovates its signs

Woolworths also renovating signsWoolworths at Town Hall is renovating the interior. Some things have moved around, and other areas have been blocked up while under constructions. Even the signs are a work in progress.

I was wondering, can you change the inside of the shop by moving the stickers on the directory sign? 🙂

Smiggle ninjas moving to other grounds

Down with clouds and ninjas at SmiggleThe Smiggle’s ninjas appear to be dispersing from the store.

As can be seen, the shop attendant is assisting the stickers advertising the Okinawa range of products to remove themselves from the font window, and disperse to where they can watch unsuspecting shoppers.

Later a ninja dog was found guarding a nearby bin.

Astroboy and the construction error

It is nice that people are running children’s entertainment in shopping centres during the school holidays. Just a pity they don’t put enough effort into checking what they construct.

As you can see, Astroboy is being attacked by a giant robot. Unfortunately the robot had a got its left hand confused with its right hand. Not good for teaching kids the difference between they left and their right. 🙂

Caution, runaway Delicious

In the interest of getting more posts on my blog I set Delicious to post links that I had added daily.

And to announce to the world there was a new post I added the Shorten2Ping plugin that sends to Twitter (and delicious).

All good in theory, but, if you leave things unchecked, your blog can run away from you.

Just post something or add a link to Delicious. Delicious then posts a list of links for the last day. When is added to Delicious again.

The cat chases its own tail.

Must remember to delete those links to posts of links.

I’ll stop moaning about self replicating blogs. And you can all go back to your usual programming.

No I don’t mean looking at the self replicating lists again! 🙂

Media and guests dodge Newtown traffic for festival

Sign telling the media where to goDue to a space limitation problem caused by the redevelopment of Newtown station, all media and guests have been asked to stand in the middle of Newtown Bridge to collect tickets for the Sydney Fringe Festival.

While the organisers understand the dangers of dodging cars traveling back and forth along King Street, they believe that it will instil the ‘living on the edge’ feeling required to appreciate this festival.

In other news, people can find Fringe Tix in a dark corner of Newtown. Just under the ‘I have a dream’ mural.

These are not the doors you are looking for (photo)

All the doors on the second carriage of my train this morning were taped up with “Door out of order please use another door” stickers. And the inter carriage doors disabled.

I suppose the carriage was having problems, but it would have been too much trouble to leave the one carriage on a siding somewhere?

Should have written down the carriage number to check with CityRail about it.
