NZ Police look for alcohol and drugs in Wee Waa NSW at Daft Punk concert

Not only do New Zealand authorities appear to have stepped outside the law to pursue people like Kim Dotcom. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, NZ Police were patrolling the Daft Punk album launch concert in Wee Waa, NSW.

According to the exert below, NZ Police had instigated an operation to ‘deal with possible drug and alcohol related violence’. But, isn’t Wee Waa a wee bit out of their jurisdiction?

SMH DaftPunk album launch 2013-05-17 at 10.30.53 PM

What an international event. A French electronic music duo, with an album launch concert in NSW Australia, patrolled by NZ Police.

Edit:
It appears the New Zealand Police have also leant on people at Fairfax. The article now read ‘NSW Police’. So I have added a PDF of the article from before the edit: Daft Punk a no-show as album ‘launched’

Have you signed up for a Qantas debit card? No, neither have a lot of people it seems…

I received an email from Qantas trying to flog me their new debit card. The first paragraph got me thinking:

“We’ve had so much interest in the exciting new Qantas Card and Qantas Cashâ„¢ that we’ve decided to extend the registration of interest deadline by another week to 19 May 2013.”

Specificity the “We’ve had so much interest…” bit.

Don’t you just read that as the reverse?

“We’ve been under whelmed with interest in our new card. So we extended the deadline. Please come show some interest now!”

Is this just me, or do other people read it like that?

Analysing the Time 100 influential results

Time have their ‘100 most influential people’ poll on at the moment.

It is interesting to analyse the voting results so far. Like the person with the most ‘Yes’ votes has almost double the number for the next person, but has 27% more ‘No’ votes. Mohamed Morsi, president of Egypt.

Assad has the 3rd highest Yes vote, and only 21% more ‘No’s than ‘Yes’s votes.

Neil Gaiman is 4th with 23,847 votes, a very small 2,268 against.

Julia Gillard is the first  woman in the list, at number 8, with 13,151 Yes and 14,143 No votes. (Beating Beyoncé)

And Kim Dotcom still needs your votes at number 17.
